Red Velvet to Debut “Surfin’ Boy” Performance at 3-Day Fan Convention Ahead of Velvet Summer Release

K-pop girl group Red Velvet will debut the performance of their new single at a three-day fan convention later this week. From the 31st of this month through the 2nd of next month, the members will host “2026 Red Velvet FAN-CON ” at Korea University’s Hwajeong Gymnasium in Seoul.

At the event, Red Velvet will give fans a first look at the title track “Surfin’ Boy” from their upcoming summer mini-album Velvet Summer, set for release on the 3rd. The dance number blends refreshing, upbeat instrumentation with dreamy vocal harmonies, and its lyrics—written solely by member Joy—recount the joy of past summers spent with loved ones while looking ahead to new memories.

Stage visuals and choreography will evoke a laid-back beach vibe: dancers join the group in sun-drenched styling, and the chorus features a signature “shaka” hand gesture alongside wave-inspired moves.

On release day, July 3 at 5 p.m. KST, Red Velvet will host a live countdown event on their official YouTube and TikTok channels, inviting fans to share in the celebration of Velvet Summer’s arrival.
