Actor Choi Hyun-wook brought a burst of youthful energy to the Asia Top Artist Festival 2026 on the evening of April 20 at Nanji Hangang Park in Seoul. Known for his compelling performances across diverse roles, he charmed the audience during a lively talk session, showcasing his signature blend of freedom and freshness.

Dressed in a season-appropriate, unpretentious outfit, Choi explained that he chose a comfortable look to blend naturally with the festival atmosphere. When asked for a keyword that best describes him, he did not hesitate to say “youth,” a term he felt resonated perfectly with the spirit of the event.

Reflecting on his own school days, Choi recalled an earlier athletic persona shaped by years of playing baseball, followed by a more mischievous phase once he hung up his glove. “I was known as a bit of a prankster after quitting the team,” he joked, drawing laughter from fans.

Choi’s musical credentials extend beyond his acting work in the drama Sparkling Watermelon—where he formed the band “Watermelon Sugar”—to a cameo in NewJeans’ “Ditto” music video. Revealing that he would choose guitar if he ever started a real band, he even struck a quick guitar-playing pose learned during his drama training, earning enthusiastic cheers.

Looking ahead, Choi expressed openness to all genres, though he admitted a current preference for bright, upbeat projects. “As long as viewers and fans are happy, I’m ready for any challenge,” he said, underscoring his passion and adaptability.

Before stepping offstage, he encouraged attendees not to treat artist talk segments as mere intermissions. “I came here as a fan myself,” he said. “Let’s stay energized and enjoy every moment—right up to the finale.”

The two-day Asia Top Artist Festival, presented by TenAsia and Hankyung Media Group, showcased everything from music to K-food, K-beauty, and K-fashion. Following a high-voltage first day featuring Dynamic Duo and CNBLUE, the second day lineup included Dragon Pony, Choi Yena, Daybreak, Urban Zakapa, AlphaDriveOne, Lee Mujin, Kickflip, Jannabi, ATEEZ, and more.
