Management Koo announced on the 16th that it has signed an exclusive contract with Kim Garam, signaling her official move toward an acting career. The agency said it had been watching her YouTube activities consistently and was impressed by her potential for growth as an actress.
According to the agency, Kim’s sincere attitude and steady efforts to achieve her dream played a major role in its decision to sign her. Management Koo noted that she has continued to train and study in order to improve her acting skills, suggesting that her transition is not a sudden move but the result of ongoing preparation.
The company also highlighted her interest in developing herself beyond acting. Kim has reportedly been studying English and Japanese, while also taking on new challenges such as playing the guitar. Kim Garam debuted in 2022 as a member of Le Sserafim, but her idol career was cut short after she became involved in a school bullying controversy. She halted activities shortly after debut and later left the group in July of the same year. Her exclusive contract with Source Music was also terminated at that time.
Following her departure from the group, Kim largely stayed out of the entertainment spotlight. She was later reported to have enrolled in Konkuk University’s Department of Media Acting, pointing to her interest in building a career in performance.
