TWICE’s Jihyo and Jamaican Singer Shenseea Collaborate on New Single ‘Distant Lover’
TWICE member Jihyo and Jamaican dancehall artist Shenseea are set to release a collaborative single titled “Distant Lover” on July 10. The announcement comes from Musicow US, which is rolling out the track as part of its “Fandom Project.”
Shenseea—who has earned two Grammy Award nominations, secured spots on Billboard’s Hot 100 and Reggae Album charts, and won two MOBO Awards—has worked with mainstream names such as Megan Thee Stallion, 21 Savage and Sean Paul. “Distant Lover” marks her first collaboration with a K-pop artist.
Produced over an Afrobeats foundation, the song blends Jihyo’s clear, melodic vocals with Shenseea’s signature dancehall delivery to capture a laid-back, summery atmosphere.
Musicow’s “Fandom Project” aims to expand exchange opportunities between Korean and American musicians while inviting listeners to participate more directly in the music creation and consumption process. A Musicow representative explained, “This initiative is designed to lead collaborations between domestic and international artists, offering new choices for fans. The pairing of Jihyo’s vocal talent and Shenseea’s dancehall expertise embodies the platform’s vision. We plan to keep diversifying how people enjoy music through future joint projects.”
